A festive feast awaits you at the Cargo Hold

Africa’s favourite stylish culinary ship, the Cargo Hold, is the place to book that special Christmas luncheon celebration this year. Dine with the sharks in one of Durbans most spectacular settings, offering a nautical and sophisticated ambiance, nestled in the stern of the Phantom Ship, with superb views of the ocean and shark tank.

Cargo Hold chef, Warren Frantz and his team, have created a scrumptious festive menu which is sure to provide you with some fabulous menu options.

Starters include a tian of prawn, avocado and salmon trout featuring an orange, grapefruit and oak leaf salad with a citrus flavoured truffle butter sauce; curried butternut and sweet potato soup with cumin, cream and parmesan croutons; chilli calamari cooked in garlic, soy sauce and chilli or chicken liver parfait with moked chicken breast with pickled carrot ribbons, red onion marmalade and bruschetta.

For mains, our chefs will be serving dukkha spiced and seared chicken breast with caramelized baby onion, pomme-puree, leek marmalade, apple and red cabbage port jus; dukkha duo of lamb (lamb loin cutlet, lamb shank phyllo parcel, mint sauce, potato gratin, minted pea puree and carrot gel); baked line fish with a pecan crunch topping served with wilted baby spinach and crushed baby potatoes or a vegetarian option of gnocci in a creamy tomato and spinach sauce served on wilted spinach, parmesan shards and pine nuts.

Those who still have room for dessert can choose between brandy laced Christmas pudding in a brandy cream sauce, cherry cheese cake or Christmas pavlova.

For a 3 course meal - starter, main course and dessert – it’s only R355 per person, while a 2 course meal of a main meal with either a started or dessert for only R295 per person. All of our Christmas guests will each receive a complimentary Christmas cracker as well.
