Cargo Hold Christmas Lunch

A festive feast awaits at the Cargo Hold

‘Tis the season to be merry and plan a special Christmas lunch celebration at the newly revamped Cargo Hold, uShaka Marine World’s top fine dining spot in the hold of the iconic shipwreck on the beachfront promenade. Taking on a new vintage chic look, Cargo Hold chef, Warren Frantz and his team, has created a scrumptious menu to match and certainly has something for everyone – from vegetarians to those who prefer a lighter meal as well as those who go all out for hearty fare.

Christmas Menu

V - Vegetarian

Starters include (select one):

Cubed Salmon - featuring sugar cured salmon, apple puree, tapenade, lemon foam and crème fraiche dressing.
Grilled Spiced Calamari - Patagonian calamari, paprika paste, roasted red pepper, basil and lemon aioli.
Mushroom Ravioli (V) - green pea, mushroom ravioli, roasted butternut crème, feta, toasted pumpkin seeds.
Chicken Rillettes - Chicken rillettes, herb salad, cranberry and fig compote, croutons, creamy salad dressing.

For mains, our chefs will be serving (select one):

Gnocchi (V) - ratatouille, aubergine, truffle lentils, gnocchi, grated parmesan and sage butter.
Beef fillet - oxtail parcel, thyme infused new potatoes, roasted vegetables, honey jus.
Line fish - simply grilled, herbs and spices, French fries, drizzled with lemon butter.
Slow Roasted Chicken Breast - Chicken breast, spinach, mushroom linguine and pecorino sauce.
Prawns Nacional - grilled to perfection and served with peri-peri and lemon butter sauces.

Those who still have room for dessert can choose from (select one):

~ Traditional Christmas pudding - served with crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream.
Strawberry Panna Cotta - strawberry and black pepper panna cotta, white chocolate mousse, balsamic vinegar reduction.
Decadent Chocolate Volcano - a rich chocolate dessert, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce.
Baked Cheesecake - Thick cream cheese, smooth crème fraiche on a shortbread crumb base.

For a 3 course meal - starter, main course and dessert - the cost is only R355 per person while a 2 course meal of either the starter and main course or the main course and dessert, will cost only R295 per person.
